Main Playback Theatre Company invited to participate in the workshop
Dreams and Spirituality in Playback Theatre.
Speaker: Dr. Jozsef Paradi (Hungary)
Dr. Jozsef Paradi (1951) Psychiatrist, psychotherapist, graduate of the School of Theater in New York
Plapyback. Is director of the School of Playback Theatre Center of
Europe in Budapest. He was a member, actor and host of Improv Theater
Budapest. He has trained new Playback groups in Hungary, Russia and Greece. TP
currently teaches in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kiev. He was a member of the Board of the International Red
Playback Theatre from 1996 to 2003. In 2003 he trained new Playback
groups to work with dreams in public theater (Theatre of Dreams
www.alomszinhaz.hu). He is the founder of Organisational Theatre, working in the field of business
. He has published numerous essays on Plaback Theatre.

Description: In our day dreams are a repressed part of the human
experience. Even some groups representing Playback prevent dreams.
Many ancient cultures have used dreams as a guide based on cultural and personal
. In our chaotic world greatly need a guide.
is why I believe that dreams are an important item in the Playback Theatre.
In 2003, I trained a company of Playback from the improvisation of dreams,
and formed the Theatre of Dreams. The key point of our experiment was
closer to the essence of dreams.
In the workshop I would like to present my views and my experience with dreams are real and practical tools
for Playback Theatre to develop spiritually.
I would like to show some simple trance inducing methods and
some principles and methods we use in our training and performances about dreams. Also,
work with the artistic quality of dreams. I would like to convey the extreme importance of our dreams
. I believe that working with dreams and
experiences of altered states of consciousness can help Playback practitioners of
even find the other essence of everyday stories told in the Playback Theatre. Maximum

Professor: Dr. József Parádi (Hungry)
(1951) Psychiatrist, psychotherapist, graduate of the School of Playback Theatre in New York.
He is director of the Central European Playback Theatre School in Budapest. He has been
member, actor and conductor of the Theatre of Improvisation Budapest (Rögtönzések
Színháza). Trained some new playback groups in Hungary, Russia and Greece. Peresently he
teaches pbt. in Moscow, St.Petersburg and Kiev
1996- 2003 - Board member of the International Playback Theatre Network.
In 2003 he trained a new playback group for working with dreams in public theater (DreamTheatre www.
alomszinhaz.hu). I Found The OrganisationTheatre (www.szervezetszinhaz.hu) working field for business. Several papers have published
about theater playback.

workshop I would like to present my view and experiences with dreams: Dreams are real and
practical tools for playback theatre to go toward spirituality. I would like to show some simple
trance inducing methods, and some principles and methods which we use in our rehearsals
and performances on dreams. We will deal with the artistry of dreams too. I would like to
transmit the extreme importance of our dreams. I believe that working with dreams and
experiences of altered states of consciousness can help the playback practitioners also in
finding the essence of other, ”everyday” stories told in playback theatre.
